Women Owned Wednesdays - Jennifer Pratt

Welcome to Women Owned Wednesdays!

In celebration of National Women's Month, we're highlighting the incredible women who make up the heart and soul of our company.

Today, we're thrilled to introduce you to CI’s Lead Investigator Trainee, Jennifer Pratt!

Jen has been with CI for 6 years, and is an integral part of our initiate teams’ day-to-day operations and success.

Tell us a little bit about yourself outside of work. Any hobbies or interests that you're passionate about?

I love spending time with my 5 adult children and my 4 grandchildren. My boyfriend and I love to travel, mostly to warmer climates. Who doesn't love warm, sandy beaches to relax on.

Our newest passion is traveling to Aruba but also love taking cruises to the Western Caribbean. I do love a good crime show/movie too!

How did you become a part of Commercial Investigations? What drew you to the company?

I previously worked for a school district for 14 years, starting as a “lunch lady” then working my way up to a Teacher's Assistant in a Multiple Disability classroom for high school students, assisting with teaching life skills. Although I loved my job, I was in need of a change after 14 years working with kids.

I came across Commercial Investigations and read up about it and was intrigued by what we do here and decided to try my luck and apply. During my phone interview with Yvette, she really sealed the deal for me and crossed my fingers that I would be hired during my in person interview since I had no experience with background investigations.

What is your favorite work snack?

Cheetos! Not so healthy, but I’m working on that.

If your job had a theme song, what would it be?

I never thought about it.

As we celebrate Women Owned Wednesday, what does working in a women-owned company mean to you personally?

Working in a women-owned company is so empowering. I have learned the importance of taking pride in what I do and have confidence in my skills even in the face of a challenge. Also having the ability to gain more insight and advice from Michelle, Yvette and the other Leads is a privilege in itself.
