Business Credit Report

It is similar to a personal credit report, but it includes information about the business's debts, payment history, and other financial information.

Business credit reports are used by lenders, vendors, and other businesses to assess the creditworthiness of a business before extending credit or making other financial arrangements.

Property Ownership

A property ownership search enables you to verify the residential address provided by job applicants or employees.

This step ensures that individuals have furnished accurate and truthful information regarding their current or previous places of residence.

Assets

An Asset search, also known as an Asset check, is meant to discover any potential asset owned by a particular applicant.

The search is performed using public and private databases. Asset checks can be done on individual or business entities, but here at CI, we only deal with individuals.

Asset searches on individuals can find currently owned property / deeds, mortgage information, motor vehicle and boat ownership, judgments, businesses using DBA’s (doing business as), and more.

UCC Filings

The Uniform Commercial Code (UCC) is a set of laws meant to standardize interstate business practices within the United States.

The UCC is not a federal law, but has been adopted by all 50 states to ensure contracts will be enforced with the same methods, no matter of location.

CI conducts UCC filing searches by each name an applicant has, and each location they have lived.

Liens

There are an abundance of different types of liens an individual can receive from a lender.

A lien is essentially an agreement based on a loan. The borrower presents collateral, and the lender files a lien stating they have legal right to the asset in case of a default.

Lien searches, or lien lookups, can help you determine the trustworthiness of an applicant, and to a degree, how that individual handles finances.

Judgments

A Judgment is a decision by a court that ends a lawsuit.

Judgments usually result after lenders have tried multiple different methods to recover the original lien or UCC filing amount, but have not been successful, and decide to go to court.

Placing a judgment on an individual gives the lender more significant mechanisms to retrieve the court ordered final settlement amount.

Bankruptcy History

A bankruptcy history search is a meticulous process of examining an individual's financial records to determine whether they have previously filed for bankruptcy.

If the position involves handling money or finances, a bankruptcy history search can help you assess the candidate's financial accountability and track record.
