Women Owned Wednesday - Yvette Austin

Welcome to Women Owned Wednesdays!

In celebration of National Women's Month, we're highlighting the incredible women who make up the heart and soul of our company.

Today, we're thrilled to introduce you to CI’s Managing Investigator, Yvette Austin!

Yvette has been with CI for 9 years, and is an integral part of our investigative teams’ day-to-day operations and success.

Tell us a little bit about yourself outside of work. Any hobbies or interests that you're passionate about?

I totally enjoy spending time with my adult children, who are no longer embarrassed to be seen with me. Going out dancing to live music and spending time with friends! As much time in the sun as possible during the warm weather months, working out when necessary. Reading crime novels (shocker, I know!!).

How did you become a part of Commercial Investigations? What drew you to CI?

I went to school for Criminal Justice, with the thought as a young adult that I wanted to be a Police Officer. I decided against the role of police, but still had a passion for investigating.

When the opportunity arose to apply at CI, it sparked my interest, and the rest is history.

What is your favorite work snack?

Rice Cakes

If your job had a theme song, what would it be?

Living the Dream - Five Finger Death Punch

As we celebrate Women Owned Wednesday, what does working in a women-owned company mean to you personally?

Michelle and I work very well together. She has been a fantastic mentor and cheerleader to me. She is the perfect person to guide me and help me through challenges, as she may have faced similar ones. Michelle encouraged me to pursue my NYS PI License, which I did. This was a huge accomplishment for me that I would not have done without Michelle’s support!!

Women are great investigators, we have a knack for finding information out, looking outside the box and digging in until we find what we are looking for.

“Most women investigate better than the FBI!”
