Identity Theft in Background Investigations Continued
The third person in the past six months claiming identity theft in relation to criminal conviction information we found was not able to prove that the conviction was not actually him. This particular subject had used three names in the past as indicated on his SSN & Address Information report. The criminal conviction was found under one of these names. CI further linked the subject to the criminal conviction by a SSN match because the court actually retained the subject's SSN (the DOB also matched). Through an employment verification (via an employer indicated on the subject's application) CI matched the subject via SSN to the name on the criminal conviction; thus showing that the subject did use that name. The subject indicated he worked at this particular employer and the employer confirmed this with a SSN match, but with the name variation that matched the criminal conviction. The subject has not further disputed the criminal conviction. 2007-01-17 16:18:14 GMT
